Blighted Property Review Committee
Pottstown Borough Council, by ordinance, has formed a Blighted Property Review Committee to identify and determine blighted properties as permitted by the Urban Redevelopment Law. The Blighted Property Review Committee consists of five members and works in conjunction with the Pottstown Borough Planning Commission to discuss and identify properties that may qualify as blighted pursuant to the provisions of the State Law.
Construction Code Board of Appeals
The Board shall have jurisdiction to hear and rule on appeals, requests for variances and extensions of time in accordance with the PA Construction Code Act, the Uniform Construction Code and regulations promulgated by the Department of Labor and Industry.
Environmental Advisory Council
Pottstown Borough Council, by ordinance, established the Environmental Advisory Council to advise other local governmental agencies on matters dealing with protection, conservation, management, promotion and use of natural resources, including air, land and water resources, located within the corporate limits of the Borough of Pottstown.
Historic Architectural Review Board
The Historic Architectural Review Board has the primary responsibility of maintaining guidelines for the many structures that are part of the National Register of Historic Places. In addition some items in the Historic District require a standard HARB Application. Since the HARB District also has different guidelines for signage, you will need to complete the Certificate of Appropriateness / Sign Application (PDF).
Human Relations Commission
The Human Relations Commission is a seven-member team of volunteers appointed by Borough Council of Pottstown. The diverse team serves to improve the quality of human relations within the Borough of Pottstown.

Pottstown Borough Authority - Water Collection & Treatment
The Pottstown Borough Authority owns the Water Treatment Plant and approximately 115 miles of underground pipes necessary to provide clean and safe water to area residential, commercial, and industrial customers. During the past several years, the authority has made significant improvements in the water system to ensure quality service. The authority is a public body, composed of five members that are appointed by the Borough Council.

Pottstown Land Bank Board
The Pottstown Land Bank Board is created with the intent and purpose to use available resources to facilitate the return of vacant, blighted, abandoned and tax delinquent properties to productive use, thereby combating community deterioration, creating economic growth and stabilizing the housing and job markets in the Borough of Pottstown.
Vacancy Board
The Vacancy Board shall consist of the Borough Council, exclusive of the mayor, and one registered elector of the Borough who shall be appointed by the Borough Council. If a council shall fail to fill any vacancy within thirty days after the vacancy happens, the vacancy shall be filled within fifteen days by the Vacancy Board.
Zoning Hearing Board
The Zoning Hearing Board is an independent branch of the local government that consists of residents of the Borough of Pottstown, appointed to the Board by Borough Council, one of whom serves as its chairperson. An attorney, who is called the Solicitor, represents the Board.
