Citizens' Leadership Academy

The Citizens' Leadership Academy is a no cost, interactive civic education program open to Borough of Pottstown residents, property owners, and business owners interested in becoming better acquainted with the Borough's operations, policies, and procedures. The 11 week Program has been developed to provide a glimpse of the inner workings of Municipal government, to develop civic leadership, and to build a stronger community through well-informed, engaged residents. Each session will feature presentations and discussion with Borough personnel, as well as tours of Borough facilities. Graduation from the program will be held during the Committee of the Whole meeting.

Class size is limited to 20 registered participants. All participants must adhere to the following criteria:
  • Complete the full application
  • 18 years of age or older
  • Live or own a property or business within the Borough boundaries
  • Commit to attending the entire 11 week program (barring a personal emergency)
  • Submit to a background check conducted by the Pottstown Police Department
