The Pottstown Parks and Recreation Department
offers a wide variety of programs and activities. The parks system includes the
River Front Park where you can enjoy a peaceful walk along the Schuylkill River
or Memorial Park with its many athletic fields. Memorial Park also has a memorial
to fallen war heroes, a play area for kids, and picnic areas. The Parks Department
also maintains a number of neighborhood parks that provide residents activities
close to their home.
The Community Center provides year round programs
for the residents of Pottstown. Contact the Parks and Recreations Department
for more information on the activities at the Center.

The Pottstown Parks and Recreation Department in coordination with the Penn
State Cooperative Extension, Pottstown School District, and Ricketts Community
Center will again be conducting a Summer Adventure Half Day Camp. This summer
program is available to all school age children in the Pottstown area that have
completed grades 4K – 6th grade (ages 5-13). This low-cost recreation program
includes recreation and games, arts and crafts, music and drama. Parents may
attend one of the scheduled registration nights or the scheduled Saturday morning
registration. Registration forms available in the Recreation office after May
20, 2007.
You only pay for the weeks that your child attends, but pre-registration is required.
