The Pottstown Parks and Recreation Department offers a wide variety of programs and activities. The parks system includes the River Front Park where you can enjoy a peaceful walk along the Schuylkill River or Memorial Park with its many athletic fields. Memorial Park also has a memorial to fallen war heroes, a play area for kids, and picnic areas. The Parks Department also maintains a number of neighborhood parks that provide residents activities close to their home.

The Community Center provides year round programs for the residents of Pottstown. Contact the Parks and Recreations Department for more information on the activities at the Center.

Summer Adventure Camp

11 weeks Monday thru Friday
4k – 6th Grades / Ages 5 - 13
Registration Fee: $40.00 for first child, $35.00 for each additional child
Cost: $90.00 per child per week*
Resident or $20.00 per day.
$100 per child per week*
Camp Location: Camp Location: Rupert Elementary School, Mt. Vernon and Cherry Streets, Pottstown.
Minimum enrollment 15 per week
Pottstown Parks and Recreation is pleased to offer recreation activities from June 11 – August 24, 2007. This is an extension of our popular Summer Adventure Camp. The program will be run at Rupert Elementary School. Price includes camp T-shirt, all Summer Adventure field trips, lunch, morning and afternoon snack. Scheduled field trips include French Creek Park, and Ringing Rocks Roller Rink., Cherry Crest Farms Amazing Corn Maze. Afternoon activities include swimming at Colonial Swim Club two days per week. Additional activities include bowling, miniature golf, roller skating, and the movies. For an additional fee of $10 per week children may remain at the site until 6:00 p.m.

This reasonably priced recreation program includes active and passive activities, arts and crafts, music and drama. All participants are invited to participate in the end of the summer talent and variety show at the Memorial Park bandstand on Wednesday, August 1 at 6:30 p.m.

You only pay for the weeks that your child attends, but pre-registration is required. For more information call 610-970-6608. Payment must be received the Friday prior to the week of attendance. VISA and Master Card accepted.
