The Pottstown Parks and Recreation Department
offers a wide variety of programs and activities. The parks system includes the
River Front Park where you can enjoy a peaceful walk along the Schuylkill River
or Memorial Park with its many athletic fields. Memorial Park also has a memorial
to fallen war heroes, a play area for kids, and picnic areas. The Parks Department
also maintains a number of neighborhood parks that provide residents activities
close to their home.
The Community Center provides year round programs
for the residents of Pottstown. Contact the Parks and Recreations Department
for more information on the activities at the Center.
On Friday, August 4, 2006, camp will conclude at Memorial Park with field

which events they would like to participate in. Some choices will include, but
are not limited to a discus throw, long jump, jump rope, kickball tournament,
potato sack races, softball throw, basketball toss, and relay races. Younger
children will participate in parachute and water games. Ribbons will be awarded
to the top participants in each category and age group. The day will end with
a picnic lunch at the pavilion. Parents are invited to attend.
