The Pottstown Parks and Recreation Department
offers a wide variety of programs and activities. The parks system includes the
River Front Park where you can enjoy a peaceful walk along the Schuylkill River
or Memorial Park with its many athletic fields. Memorial Park also has a memorial
to fallen war heroes, a play area for kids, and picnic areas. The Parks Department
also maintains a number of neighborhood parks that provide residents activities
close to their home.
The Community Center provides year round programs
for the residents of Pottstown. Contact the Parks and Recreations Department
for more information on the activities at the Center.

Band members will be dressed in World War II uniforms while playing
the songs from the war years and Big Band Era. Special appearances by Rosie the
Riveter, Uncle Sam,
and the Andrews Sisters!
All attending World War II vets will be honored with a special
memento. Dress in vintage 1940’s clothes and military uniforms and enter
the dress contest.
Cash prizes awarded in three categories.
Free refreshments via
Ration Books at the mess tent, free K-Rations at your table, cash bar at the
Officers’ Club, discharge papers at the conclusion.
